Two Poems in one day! Secrets NaPoWriMo – Day One 2018

I must have been mind reading for the first prompt as I wrote this yesterday and then wrote the poem on the early bird prompt. (See previous entry)

Women of the World in Laughter

(Hougang, Singapore, March 2018)

Should you request they cease their mirth,

it would set them to laughing the louder;

slap their hands to their knees as their heads

fall forward in raucous amusement. They

have no pity at all for this man’s agony.

Oyster on the half shell, a sign from the gods

as to its useful ingestion for man. Given

science then uplifted the properties to support

such theory from zinc to Omega 3 Fatty Acids

and Vitamin D: all was well. The Bible makes

no mention of oysters at the spilling of seed

a member placed where it never should be, surely

no one can then escape the sanctions of the gods.

They wait with a weapon as sure and sharp as a

jagged shell for revenge; for blood spill and pain.

Add to that the laughter of women throughout

the world. And for the count: sixty-seven stitches.

But then this story could be a hoax, except that,

it is true the women would laugh.
